Fun!

It's been a few months since I spent a whole day crafting with kids. Last week, I had the pleasure of presenting to over 160 students, kindergarten through to grade four, at St. Theresa Catholic School.
I received a warm welcome!

I usually begin my presentation to the students by showing them lots of fun crafts to make.

Then I invite them to sit at tables that I have already set up with craft supplies, including bowls of buttons. Who can resist?

Not these kids!

I never get tired of making Button Buddies, and, I'm happy to say, neither do students!

Each one is usually different...

...unless two students decide to make twins. Adorable!

 Have a crafty day,

Slippers!

Over a year ago, I decided to knit a pair of slippers for one of the wonderful women I work with at the library. I enjoyed choosing the yarn, Cascade, and knitted the yarn doubled, one in Cascade's painted line and the other one plain, on size 6 mm needles.

The pattern is from London Yarns and it's called "Bodacious Booties" from Dragonpine Designs. The pattern was really fun to make and I quickly knitted one slipper, then set it aside, and didn't get back to the slippers until a few weeks ago.

I was determined to get the other slipper knitted as soon as possible and it didn't take long at all. The slippers looks odd before being stitched together along the heel and sole.

 Finished at last!

Aren't they cute and cosy-looking when being worn?

I was so happy to finally finish them and tickled that my friend really likes her new slippers! Too bad she can't wear them to work.

Enjoy your day,

Judy Ann

It's All Good

It was wonderful to welcome Glanworth's newest resident to the library a few weeks ago. He is beautiful, a perfect addition to a lovely family.

He's already been to the library many times. He'll be reading on his own soon!

Lots of crafting, fun and games continue to be a vital part of our little library.

I certainly agree with this sentiment!

I'm also very happy to report that Mom has been feeling well enough to knit and crochet again. She's been delighting her family, friends, and nurses with these beautiful towels. She has making them down to a fine art!

Enjoy your day,

Judy Ann
