Pumpkins!

I knitted this hat for one of our sweet, little pumpkins.

She was happy to try it on...

...and grin at me...

...but soon she had had enough!

The next day, I was delighted to see
that she wore her new hat to visit the real pumpkin patch,
so I think she likes it after all!

Enjoy this pumpkin season,

If you set out the supplies...

...they will come and create!

We had fun at our little Glanworth library this weekend making peg people!

I set out lots of fun, crafty materials

and made a sample peg person.

My little peg person wanted company, so

we encouraged others to be creative.

It worked!

So much fun! I love when others take my ideas and run with them.

Enjoy your day,

Judy Ann

Hugs

Recently, our family spent a wonderful, chaotic, noisy, fun, delightful week together. With four little ones under four, it was a challenge to focus on any activities other than keeping track of each other! As usual, our holiday week flew by. I was afraid we didn't really get to spend enough quality time together, but when it was time to go our separate ways, it was very moving to witness
the good-bye hugs.

These photos make me give a deep, happy, teary sigh.

I hope there are hugs in your day,

Judy Ann

Cake, not cake

I love baking just about anything. Breads, cookies, scones and squares are some of my faves,
but I seem to particularly like baking birthday cakes.

Sometimes, though, a different kind of
birthday cake is called for!

Mmm, ice-cream cake!

And on a hot summer day, half the fun is trying to finish your slice before it melts.

The drips are also delicious!

The debate is always, fork or spoon? Leo made the right decision, I would say!

I hope your day includes a sweet treat or two!

Cinnamon rolls!

I baked cinnamon rolls this morning and decided to share.
Really, there's nothing a baker likes better than to have her baking anticipated and enjoyed!

Leo decided that they should be called cinnamon un-rolls!

With either name, they are fun to bake and even more fun to eat!

Small visitors

We've had a pleasant time at our little Glanworth library watching a family of
barn swallows nesting on the front porch.

The little ones are always hungry and have kept their parents on the fly!

There's lots of pleasant activity inside our little library, too.

Enjoy your day,

Judy Ann

Sew cute!

I came across this little dress pattern a few years ago and thought it was very cute. I bought the pattern, cut it out in a few different sizes in various fabrics, and managed to make one to give away.

The others have been sitting in a bin almost, but not quite, forgotten.

This week, I found and finished this little dress:

I'm happy with how it turned out, but then I tried it on this little sweetie:

Oh my goodness!

Of course, it's not the dress that makes her adorable–she would look adorable
 in a paper bag!

Still, this is great motivation to keep sewing.

Enjoy your day,

Judy Ann

Where to start?

It's been over a year since I last wrote on this blog.
And what a year it was.
Our lives were forever changed by the loss of my remarkable father-in-law

and my amazing mother.

Four generations!
Along with these sad and difficult losses,
we were blessed with two more beautiful grandbabies.

Life has changed, but we are grateful for the beautiful circle of life.

Nothing Happens In This Book was launched last June!

There have been many terrific reviews and sales have been good!

On the home front, I haven't bought bread for many months because
my wonderful sister showed me how to bake artisan bread, yum!

I've also been trying to make time for
writing and knitting and sewing,
and continue to make Button Buddies with students.

I hope you find time for creativity in your days, too.
