Waiting

 We've hosted a baby shower...

...where we decorated with adorable baby clothing worn by the mom-and-dad-to-be
as well as their aunts and uncles.

We've admired Carly's beautiful basketball belly...

...and delighted in sweet little gifts!

I've knitted wee caps and can't wait to find out if we will need the pink one...

...or the blue one?

This one, knitted by a thoughtful friend, is perfect for either!

The nursery is almost ready.

And so we wait, with hopes and prayers and love.

Low-tech fun!

Sure, we all enjoy playing computer games and watching video clips and anything on screens, but look what happened when I put a couple of buckets of construction toys on the table in our lovely little Glanworth library.

Way too much fun!

Have a creative day,

There's always something interesting going on...

...inside our lovely little Glanworth library!

Sometimes we are being creative with stacking blocks.

Sometimes we're busy cutting and colouring together.

(The results are usually fun to show off!)

Sometimes we are busy exploring and testing new skills!

But every once in a while there is something going on outside
that is just a wee bit more interesting than what is happening inside!

Hope you're doing something interesting, too!

Milestones

Today is my mom's 85th birthday!
We are blessed to have her and so happy that she is doing quite well.
We will thoroughly celebrate Mom this weekend!

We recently celebrated another milestone birthday, my baby sister, Irene, turned 50.
A pretty darn good-looking 50, I would say!

That meant we five sisters had the great pleasure of hanging out together for a few days.

Irene is awesome at sister selfies!

How lucky am I? (And I'm blessed with beautiful brothers, too!)

So much to be grateful for and lots to look forward to!

Happy September,

Judy Ann

Something fishy!

There was something fishy going on at our little Glanworth library this morning!

We made cute and funny little origami fish.

Happy Crafting,

Family Vacation!

We recently returned from a wonderful family vacation.
Everyone was able to get away for a week in Nova Scotia.
Two of us drove there in three days, two made the drive in two days
and the other three flew in a few short hours!

It rained almost everyday,

but that didn't stop us from doing all kinds of fun stuff.

There was always so much to see...

...over there...

...and there...

...and way over there...

...and everywhere...

 ...including right here...

...mostly birds!

Besides birding, we did lots of other fun stuff.

Emily was the only one adventurous enough to surf!

(So much fun to watch!)

Some of us visited the very striking new Halifax Public Library.
The top floor is known as, "Halifax's Livingroom"
because it has such great city and ocean views, a cafe,
and patio on the green roof.

Loads of books, too!

We visited quaint and peaceful Mahone Bay...

...ate Cows ice cream (really, the best ice cream ever)...

...visited the gorgeous Public Gardens in downtown Halifax..

...toured the amazingly colourful, historic town of Lunenburg...

...saw the famous Bluenose II...

...and spent an enchanted evening at Peggy's Cove.

We all loved it there!

We marvelled at how quickly the tide came back in as we
puddled on the ocean floor along the Bay of Fundy.

And closer to home, we were very lucky that just behind our guest house
was a rail trail, perfect for biking,
as long as you made sure to swerve around the puddles!

Early-morning rides were our favourites.

We saw so many beautiful scenes in Nova Scotia, and this was one of the best!
(Can't wait!)

Happy Summer,

Judy Ann
